Abstract :
An adaptive link layer retransmission and active drop mechanism is designed based on fuzzy logic. The mechanism is simpler than the classical RED (random early discarding) queue management algorithm. Simulation results show that it is also superior to fixed number retransmission with RED and FIFO queue management in improving the TCP traffic performance over 3G links.
