Abstract :
A new configuration of an AWG-PON is presented capable of delivering, simultaneously fixed, switched and broadcast services, both in digital and in radio-over fiber format from the CO to the ONUs and viceversa. An experiment demonstrates the independent delivery of different, including very high speed signals downstream from 155 Mb/s to 10 Gb/s and wireless UMTS and HYPERLAN signals. Upstream remodulation by exploiting the delivery of an unmodulated carrier from the CO to the ONU is also shown.
