Abstract
The identification of structural parameters of civil structures using the ERA-OKID, subspace and least squares algorithms is presented. The structures considered are an academic problem and an instrumented building in Mexico City. For the first one, the El Centro (1940) seismic record is considered in order to carry out all the simulations. For the case of the real instrumented building, an earthquake registered by the accelerometers is considered. Good results are obtained with all three different algorithms with the academic problem. With the real building, the subspace algorithm shows a better performance. The present research shows the feasibility of the use of this kind of identification algorithms as potential damage detection tools in civil structures.
