Abstract :
Photonic crystals with structural defect can reflect the light in sufficiently wide spectral range and have simultaneously the narrow spectral band of transmission within the range due to defect mode. The opportunity to control spectrum of one-dimensional photonic crystals in visible range using liquid crystals as the defect layers are studied. Different variants of layered structures with both a single and two LC defects are considered.
