Abstract :
An original design of microstrip resonator for measuring the permittivity of liquid crystals in the decimeter and centimeter wavelengths is proposed. Temperature dependences of dielectric constants in ematic and isotropic phases for liquid crystals from alkyleyanobiphenyl series (5CB and 8CB) are presented. It is shown, that observable deviations of the permittivity values from the squares of optical refraction indices are due to intramolecular movements of flexible alkyl chains.
