Abstract :
A fast efficient unification method is proposed for the electromagnetic analysis of an arbitrary oriented dielectric-coated wire above a lossy half-space. This method unified the uses of moment method with equivalent polarization charges model for insulation layer and equivalent images model for the effects of lossy half-space. With this method, the impedance elements have a standard form for bare and insulated wires in a vacuum and above lossy half-space. With reasonable approximation, the impedance elements can have closed form expressions. Thus the computation speed can be improved enormously compared with conventional method with time consuming volume, surface or Sommerfeld type integrations.
