Abstract :
Accreditation is about implementing systems, which assures the test result quality. Although all testing laboratories may declare that they have in place systems assuring their quality of test results, only accredited laboratories meet the ISO/IEC 17025 requirements, since they have been assessed for their professional competence. Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing is an area of considerable-importance to international trade and one where laboratory accreditation can play an increasingly important role in reducing the non-acceptance of test results as a technical barrier to trade. This paper gives an overview of the accreditation of EMC testing laboratories worldwide and the status in Israel.
