Abstract
Recently, sterilization, surface treatment, etc. are attracting attention as new applied uses of flash lamps. However, conventional Xe flash lamps emit light having spectra close to those of sunbeams. The authors of the present paper examined a new gas (Kr) and a mixture of gases (Kr:Xe=90:10) to be enclosed in the discharge tube, and developed a flash lamp having higher radiant efficiency in the short wavelength range.
