Abstract :
In this work, we present a discrete model to the production and storage problem with multiple production stages and a single final product, subject to random demand. We present some conditions under which the optimal policy generates positive recurrent states. In addition, we derive a dynamic programming procedure to seek the optimal solution to the problem and provide some numerical examples.
