Abstract
The multitude of video formats in television and multimedia systems requires extensive use of video scaling. For this purpose, we present a new topology for flexible sample-rate conversion with polyphase FIR filters. For any desired number of filter taps, a topology can be designed featuring up and down panoramic (or other) distortions without stalling the video data stream as has been a limitation in previous proposals. This new approach enables a flexible one-scaler implementation for all applications (e.g. video, audio, graphics).
