Abstract :
The purpose of this work is to study a process organization on space cognition by vision. This investigation is to observe the relationship between the head and the eye motor system for the localization of visual target direction in space. The experiments are performed in a soundproof chamber. Nineteen red LED (luminescent diode, brightness: 210 cd/m2) arrayed in the horizontal plane of the surrounding panel are used and the LED are 10 degrees apart from each other. Physiological parameters such as EOG (electro-oculography), head movement and their synergic control are measured by BIOPAC system and 3SPACE FASTRAK. This result shows that the response time of the perception motion in the center is faster than the periphery of the panel, The latency time is shorter in self moved tracking (SMT) than eye alone tracking (EAT) and eye hand tracking (EHT). These results can be used in the study of characterizing the spatial cognition.
