Abstract :
This paper examines and explores the social practices of mobile telephone users that reflect their everyday use of present-day mobile communications technologies. It discusses the ways in which these practices can be incorporated into technology planning for 3G/UMTS to enable the development of solutions that more closely match user expectations. The paper cites research conducted by DWRC for the UMTS Forum between 2002 and 2004.
