Abstract
The paper analyses the error performances of different CRC coding schemes for transmitting UE-IDs (user equipment IDs) via the shared physical control channel in HSDPA (high speed downlink packet access). It is shown that there is no performance advantage in preventing the UE-ID from being transmitted explicitly, compared to the conventional CRC coding scheme, especially when the multi-user transmission structure is considered as a whole system for performance evaluation.
