Abstract
Based on the measured-parameters, a set of characteristic functions for equivalent circuit model in a spiral inductor is analyzed. It has been found that the characteristic functions exhibit certain well-defined behavior, such as linear dependence on certain frequency range. By properly choosing the corresponding slopes (or intercept) of the linear curves the model parameters for the equivalent circuit can be derived. The present approach, without resorting to iterative fitting procedures, yields good estimates for the model parameters. The obtained parameters can serve as the initial value for further parameter optimization using other iterative curve fitting techniques.
