Abstract
The most widespread model for teleoperation through the Internet considers it as a black box that has two parameters: a random delay and a packet loss rate. The random delay is normal distributed with given mean and standard deviation values. In this work, we propose an enhanced statistical module to calculate these parameters. The paper describes how the statistical module operates in the overall teleoperation platform. Experimental values obtained for the Internet parameters for different working distances are shown. These results are compared to the results obtained by other works and some conclusions about the Internet communication status are extracted
