  • Abstract
The paper presents two signal detectors of low hardware complexity in MB-OFDM UWB (multi-band orthogonal frequency division multiplexing ultra wide band) systems. Since MB-OFDM UWB has 4 piconets, which are each composed of different preamble sequences, correlators execute cross-correlation with inputs and each coefficient set; therefore, existing correlators have problems of high hardware complexity. To reduce hardware complexity, we present a structure which is composed of a coefficient bank and a transposed filter. In addition to this, because of the property of preamble sequences, we provide a hierarchical structure which has coefficients of only -1 or 1. The results of simulations show that the proposed structures are superior to existing ones.
