Abstract :
We propose a hybrid hardware/software system for image enlargement in full color levels at video rate. A codebook-based image enlargement algorithm achieves high precision enlargement for particular image employing Self-Organizing Map. Real time processing is realized by a proposed hardware accelerator which is massively parallel architecture for searching a winner in the codebook. Experimental result shows that the proposed hybrid system achieves about 40 times faster than the personal computer.
