Abstract
The coupling loss is the most important parameter in the design of leaky coaxial cables (LCX). In this work, the S2DS method and method of moment (MOM) is used to calculate the electric field distribution in the slots cut in the outer conductor of the coaxial cable by considering the losses of the cable. These calculated fields are firstly used to obtain the radiation fields of the antenna, then the coupling loss of the leaky coaxial cables with arbitrary distribution of slots, are obtained. We consider the losses of the cable that decrease the coupling loss for long distances. The distance between slots is optimized to compensate the losses and achieve a uniform coupling loss along the cable.
