Abstract :
In this paper, the functions of the minimum singular value and the associated right singular vectors of power-flow Jacobian matrix, P-V curve and V-Q curve were used to assess the relation between reactive power supply and voltage magnitude on Tai-power system. The active power margin of a system can be found from minimum singular value, which can assess the voltage stability problem. And according to the right singular vectors, weak bus indices of a system can be computed, which indicates a system weak bus ranking. An assessing reactive power supply and demand method is derived by V-Q curve. The techniques were used and compared on the 2003´s and 2006´s Tai-power system, and the difference and effect of reactive power supply and demand were pointed out.
