Abstract :
Application multicast is expected to provide a realistic solution to the end-to-end multicast services before IP multicast is deployed all over the network. With the application multicast, multicast session manager is also needed for membership control and quality of service monitoring. In this paper, we identify the requirements of multicast session manager to meet the multicast session control functions, and describe design consideration of multicast session manager for session membership and QoS monitoring
