Abstract :
We present first results on the performance of a new generation of semitransparent amorphous silicon position detectors having good properties such as an intrinsic position resolution better than 5 mum, a spatial point reconstruction precision better than 10 mum, deflection angles smaller than 10 murad and transmission in the visible and NIR higher than 70%. In addition the sensitive area is very large: 30 times 30 mm2.
