Abstract
Wall velocity, one of the properties of magneto-optical disks, can be calculated using the Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert equation that contains the parameters of gyromagnetic ratio(or g-factor) and damping parameter. In most cases, magnetic layer is made of ferrimagnetic rare-earth 3d-transition-metal alloy (RE-TM) films where the g-factor is well known. In this regard, the temperature dependence of the Gilbert damping parameter and the domain wall velocity of RE-TM films are discussed.
