Abstract
A new combination process which consists of rectangular shaped nozzle with single output and electromagnetic stirring (EMS) is considered to obtain high inner quality steel during continuous casting process. The usefulness of this process is evaluated by means of magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) calculation. The proposed process with the rectangular shaped nozzle and EMS at meniscus seems to realize both some velocity at downward flow diffusion and meniscus flow.
