Abstract
This paper reports on the correlation of thermal stability and the anisotropy distribution in data storage tapes prepared from ultra-fine Fe-Co and Ba-ferrite particles. The magnetization stability is essentially determined by the magnitude and angular distribution of anisotropy field (HA). From the results, an excellent angular distribution of the HA was obtained from Fe-Co particles. However, it is not the case for the data storage tape prepared from Ba-ferrite particles.
