Abstract :
A programmable CMOS analog equalizer is described using the Gm-C design technique, providing 0--19dB boost at 100MHz with 2 Vpp differential signal swing from a single +5v supply. It is used in a 100Base-TX Fast Ethernet application that supports a data rate of 100Mb/s over 100m CAT5 UTP cable. The integrated circuit realization occupies 0.34 mm2in 0.35µm CMOS and dissipates 150mW.
