Abstract :
A high-speed fully-addressable 32 × 256-cell analog memory chip (ARAM) for real-time video processing is presented. Cell density is 637 registers per sq. mm. Off-chip access times below 100ns have been measured for an equivalent resolution of 7-8bits, thus complying with a variety of TV and videoconferencing scanning and encoding standards. Storage times of 80-100ms without refreshing and within the referred accuracy limits have been obtained. Repeated access to any memory location is applicable. A 16-line analog I/O bus has been implemented for direct interfacing an analog array processor.
