Abstract :
An analog front-end IC for Integrated Voice and Data Application is presented. Beside normal voice transmission also Full-Rate ADSL can be provided in parallel, ADSL over ISDN is also supported. The presented chip integrates four channels, every channel consists of three ADC´s and three DAC´s. Together with one common supervision channel there are 25 converters integrated on silicon. This chip is developed for Central Office (CO) applications and it supports ITU G.dmt, G.lite and ANSI T1.413. The AFE contains all necessary analog and digital codec blocks, such as PGA, tuned filters, ADC, DAC, decimation and interpolation filters and three different digital interfaces. The chip is supplied with only 3.3V. The power consumption for all channel active Voice and ADSL Data transmission is below 1300mW. A 0.6µm BiCMOS technology is used.
