Abstract :
This paper presents the experimental results of a highly integrated transmitter IC for WCDMA mobile terminal applications based on a variable IF heterodyne architecture. The frequency plan eliminates the need for external filters and multiple synthesizers, and is implemented in IBM´s 47 GHz SiGe BiCMOS technology. The transmitter IC consumes approximately 100mA with a 2.85V power supply and features an OIP3 of +26.0 dBm, 115 dB dynamic range and 2.5% EVM.
