Abstract
In this paper, a novel coding topology, SB-ZePoC, is shown to be favourable for use in class-D audio power amplifiers. It enables the generation of binary pulselength modulated signals with separated baseband, that for the first time allow for an exact (free of distortion) reconstruction of the input signal by means of an analog low-pass filter. The pulse-repetition rate of these signals can be as low as the sampling rate of the digital input signal to be encoded. Implementation and measurement results are discussed.
