Abstract :
A biasing scheme for minimum supply CMOS amplifiers is presented. The approach exploits the bulk terminals to set the quiescent current of a pseudo differential amplifier, thereby avoiding the use of the tail current source. Nonideal effects of the switched-capacitor network used in the feedback control loop are also theoretically examined. Transistor-level simulations on a design powered with 0.7V show that the obtained performance is comparable to that of a traditional differential pair supplied with 1V.
