Abstract :
The present paper proposes a new reformulation of microstrip antenna design based on multisection Chebsyshev impedance matching transformers. The new proposed design procedure aims to match the feedline impedance to that of the air using the antenna to be designed. A sample design example is presented. Simulation results using Fidelity and IE3D softwares show that the proposed procedure is a promising method for designing microstrip broadband antennas.
