Abstract :
In this letter, a generic unified closed-form formula is derived, which can be applied for the derivation of average symbol pairwise error rates (SPERs) of quasi-orthogonal space-time block codes with minimum decoding complexity (MDC-QSTBCs) and space-time block codes obtained from coordinate interleaved orthogonal designs (STBCs-CIODs) over quasi-static frequency-nonselective i.i.d. Rayleigh fading channels. Based on the derived closed-form formula, we also provide its asymptotic approximate expression that can be effectively utilized to explicitly obtain the coding gain and verify the full-diversity achievability for both the STBCs.
