Abstract :
In this paper, a simple statistical model for scattering from a fractal tree is proposed, which can be used for site-specific channel modeling for wireless communication applications. At first, we generate a complicate-structured fractal tree consisting of a trunk and various shapes of branches and leaves. Then, the total field scattered from the tree in the near-zone is calculated by coherent summation of individual scattered fields from many tree constituents such as trunk, branches, and leaves. Using Monte Carlo simulation and single scattering theory the scattered fields from many sample trees are calculated around trees. Based on the calculation, mean and standard deviation of the scattering pattern are estimated and modeled.
