Abstract
This work concerns the use of multi-agent system models as a paradigm to support multi-machine scheduling (MMS). Jobs can be allocated to processor dynamically by the cooperation of distributed agents with the contracting net protocol. An optimal model of multi-machine scheduling was proposed; furthermore, the function and the negotiation protocol were defined. The way of generation for initial group and crossover method has also been discussed to improve the efficiency of the genetic algorithm.
