Abstract
Recently, position assessment of teaching staff has been regarded as an indispensable measure to further improve the position engagement in universities, and it is necessary to explore new assessment methods. On the basis of investigation of the characteristics of teaching staff, we combine quantitative analysis and qualitative description to propose a quantitative position assessment system, in which teachers´ work can be evaluated. Some problems presented in the assessment system, such as the guiding role of the index, the balance between different subjects and precision of assessment results, are also discussed in this paper.
