            Abstract :
This paper describes a general framework intended to analyse the performance of the antennas being part of a UWB radio link, for a pulse based physical layer scheme. Several major antenna effects are considered, like impedance matching, antenna gain, frequency-dependent radiation patterns, and antenna temporal dispersion in the presence of the radio channel.
