Letter from the editor

Shortly after last year´s great 2012 IEEE International Symposium on EMC in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, I traveled to Bangalore, India to meet the members of the Society of EMC Engineers India (SEMCEI). This organization is a “Sister Society” of the IEEE EMC Society and very active in holding regular meetings and events on EMC and related topics. I attended their four-day workshop on High Power Electromagnetics which featured a prominent member of the IEEE EMC Society, Bill Radasky of Metatech Corporation, as the lead speaker. The workshop was held at the Central Power Research Institute (CPRI) in the middle of Bangalore. Judging by the good attendance and excellent questions posed, EMC education is alive and well in India. In fact, from a recent report by IEEE, on line access to the Xplore digital library by institutions in India was up 23% in 2012 over the previous year. Our next issue of this magazine will include more information about EMC activity in India. Stay tuned!
