Abstract :
We describe how intercell interference can be mitigated in the uplink of UTRA TDD (TD-CDMA). The intercell interference mitigation technique is based on reusing existing multiuser detector architectures that are derived from linear receivers. Through simulation results we determine the efficiency of the scheme when operating under different channel conditions, with different numbers of users and different levels of intercell interference. Using a simple TD-CDMA uplink capacity equation we demonstrate the potential performance improvement Finally, we present experimental results from a TD-CDMA system that has intercell interference mitigation enabled.
