Abstract :
The recent growth in demand for worldwide broadband communications requires system efficiency and capacity improvement while guaranteeing service quality of service (QoS). This paper presents a comparative study of the maximum throughput achieved by conventional ALOHA and spread ALOHA one repetitive code (SAORC), and their respective required reception thresholds for a given bit error rate (BER). The paper also presents a preliminary analysis of the advantages and potentialities of applying channel coding on SAORC by evaluating efficiency improvement for different coding rates.
