Abstract :
This paper investigates the performance of regular and irregular low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes constructed by progressive edge growth (PEG) method with a new modulation strategy. The new modulation strategy can make a good trade off between conventional 4QAM and 16QAM, and compared with 8PSK with the same spectral efficiency, the new modulation strategy can provide a better BER performance.
