Abstract :
The first biconical antenna, beloved by our industry, was constructed in 1897 by Sir Oliver Lodge.1 Lodge´s invention came less than a dozen years after Herr Heinrich Hertz demonstrated a transmitting dipole antenna as part of his experiments in electromagnetic wave propagation, which proved the theory of Maxwell and Faraday and earned him the honorific for the unit we use every day.
