Abstract :
We use ultrafast terahertz transmission and emission spectroscopy to study ultrafast demagnetization in ferromagnetic iron. We show that demagnetization proceeds with a 1.7 ps±0.3 ps lifetime in ferromagnetic films at room temperature.
