Abstract :
In this paper, the author presents his view on Rinaldo Castello who has honored his profession with an intense and successful research and teaching activity. During his career, Professor Castello published over 170 scientific papers, had about 40 US patents and one of them recognized among the most relevant for the STM business. In addition, Professor Castello is reputed to be one of the biggest contributors to ISSCC from its inception and in the last 10 years. While deploying his activity in a highly competitive field, many of his innovations inspired IC designers for improved system performance and product quality. Professor Castello´s commitment as a professor and as an Industry consultant has had a very strong impact on the evolution of microelectronics.
