Abstract :
We have studied the picosecond-dynamics of optically pumped hexagonal LuMnO3 using ultrafast X-ray diffraction. Experimental data are compared with a simulation based on dynamical diffraction theory modified to account for the hexagonal structure of LuMnO3.
