Abstract
The reflection coefficient for an array of circular vias has been obtained using two different models. The results obtained from two different models agree very well. The minimum number of vias required to obtain a good short-circuit wall for this particular geometry is around 32 or 64, depending on the phase difference that is acceptable. Table 3 shows that N = 2 (5 basis functions) is enough to get an accurate reflection coefficient result for the circular via model.
