Abstract :
A rectangular slot is introduced to obtain dual frequency operation of a patch antenna fed by a coplanar waveguide (CPW). The antenna is printed on a single layer and therefore is easily constructed. A prototype of the proposed antenna designed for WLAN operations in the 2.4 and 5.2 GHz bands has been validated theoretically. One of the most promising aspects of the new antenna is its capability of matching the input impedance at two frequencies with a single feed point. The use of two separated frequencies allows relaxation of the bandwidth requirements for each frequency.
