Abstract :
In this paper, a combined antenna with an equiangular spiral line at the origin, and an Archimedean spiral line at the terminal was proposed. The low frequency characteristic of the equiangular spiral antenna was improved. The disadvantages of the Archimedean spiral antenna, such as long arm, large transmission loss, inefficiency and so on was overcome, and the antenna size was reduced effectively The plane equiangular spiral antenna was analyzed using the FDTD method, and the conformal mesh technique was adopted to build the model whose driving source was a gap-driving model in the resistance voltage source condition. The diameter of the antenna is 140mm, and the VSWR is less than 2 from 0.8GHz to 5GHz, with good directional diagram characteristics and circular polarization characteristic.
