Abstract :
The radiation Q of an antenna (Qr) is an important design parameter. It is especially important for electrically small antennas because they inherently have high values of Qr resulting in narrow bandwidth, large voltages and currents for a given radiated power and reduced radiation efficiency. Qr was determined for several monopole type antennas. The antennas considered are a thin cylinder (TC), fat monopole (FM), conical monopole (CM), UTLM, disk loaded monopole (DLM), wheeler inverted cup (WIC), and a magic disk (MD)
