Abstract
The fundamentals of a hybridization approach for a class of EA called evolutionary programming (EP) that has recently been applied to circuit optimization problems is explained. Easier implementation and self-adaptation mechanism are some of the advantages of EP compared to other type EA such as the genetic algorithm (GA). However, the hybridization method explained in this paper is equivalently applicable to all other paradigms of EA.
