            Abstract : 
In this paper, a new method for analyzing groove guides with arbitrary groove profile is presented, which is based on the combination of an active equivalent transmission line equation and staircase approximation. Numerical results for attenuation constants of some groove guides are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the presented approach.
